About us
Independent Stocktakers You Can Rely On
We have spent over 31 years counting stock for businesses across the UK, from single independent shops to multi-site retailers and distribution warehouses.
Independent by design
We act for neither side of a transaction. That is what makes the figure we produce usable by both.
Counted, not estimated
Every distinct line is counted and recorded. Nothing is sampled up or rounded to make a total tidy.
Priced on line count
We quote on the number of lines you carry rather than your floor area, which is fairer to both sides.
Who we are
We are independent stocktakers. That independence is the point: when a business changes hands, both the buyer and the seller need to trust the figure, and that only works if the person producing it has no stake in the outcome.
Our work covers business transfer valuations, annual and year end counts for accounts, periodic stock audits for businesses tracking shrinkage, and full inventory reconciliation for warehouse operations.
The businesses we work for are mostly the ones that make up a British high street: convenience stores, off licences, Post Office branches, licensed premises, specialist food shops and the warehouses that supply them.
How we work
We quote a fixed price before attending, based on the number of distinct lines you carry rather than the floor area of the premises. A small shop carrying two thousand lines takes longer than a larger one carrying six hundred, and pricing on line count is the honest way to reflect that.
Counts are scheduled outside trading hours wherever possible, so your shop keeps trading. Barcode scanning handles most lines; anything not barcoded to UK EPOS standards is entered manually against a priced line list, and we allow for that when quoting rather than discovering it on the day.
The written valuation is issued on the day of the count, in a format your accountant or solicitor can work from directly.
What we will not do
We will not take a booking for a date we cannot make. We will not quote a figure and then add travel to the invoice. And we will not adjust a valuation to suit whichever party is asking, which occasionally loses us work and is exactly why the figure is worth having.
Want to talk it through before committing? Call us, there is no obligation.
Request a quoteWhy independence matters
A stock figure produced by either party to a sale invites argument, and arguments at completion are expensive. A figure produced by someone with no interest in the outcome does not, which is why solicitors on both sides are usually happy to see one.
The same logic applies at year end. An evidenced, independently produced valuation is considerably easier to stand behind if your accounts are ever queried than a figure assembled in-house in the week before the deadline.
